A TRIKE CALLED FUNK

A Trike Called Funk is a Boston-based creative venture co-founded in July 2021 by MC & Dance Lead Aaron Myers and DJ Edward Galan, whose community-based activations feature music genres & dance forms spanning the African Diaspora in the Americas–from Funk to Hip Hop and Salsa to Samba. In collaboration with other local artists, we orchestrate participatory dance experiences around our customized cargo tricycle, which is equipped with its own portable dance floor, power source, DJ equipment, and sound system.

AFRODESIACITY

AfroDesiaCity is an event management company that partners directly with emerging artists and professionals from diverse backgrounds. Our aim is to elevate your voice and support organizations in producing soulful events, as well as providing creative and professional opportunities. We serve Boston's greater metropolitan area and the East Coast region by offering services such as artist management, event production, and community and cultural activation.

AGNCY

Agncy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to using design as a tool to reduce structural equity. Agncy works with teams and leaders to make the equity and justice they seek in their communities; used collectively, design can transform people, organizations, and systems. 

ALCHEMY STATION

Alchemy Station transforms spaces into experiences through art. We collaborate with organizations to curate and commission artwork that not only enhances environments but also aligns with their values. Our network of visionary artists—carefully selected for their ethos and creativity—ensures that every project is both meaningful and visually striking.

THE ART WALK PROJECT

An exploration of community, creativity, diversity and activism The Art Walk Project is a series of self guided tours designed to create a unique experience through a curated series of creative adventures that encourage people to connect with their community through the lens of Public art. Started in 2020, The Art Walk Project, owned and operated by Julia Swanson and JS Creative Media, is designed to be a dynamic and engaging experience that features art from across a broad spectrum of vision, style and time and which taps into the unique characteristics of each community to educate and inspire. 

ARTS CONNECT INTERNATIONAL (ACI)

Arts Connect International (ACI)'s mission is to build equity in and through the arts. We envision a world where many words thrive in harmonious relation to each other. We envision living beings nurturing cultures of care that liberate all through creative expression.

BAMSFEST

BAMS Fest Inc. is a nonprofit organization that breaks down racial and social barriers to arts, music, and culture across Greater Boston. Through education, entertainment, strategic partnerships, and year-round programming, we celebrate and support both artists and audiences, with an emphasis on Black and Brown voices, perspectives, and artistry. Through corporate support and over 100 partnerships with local cultural institutions, BAMS Fest has been able to pay over $450,000 to more than 800 Black and Brown artists and cultural workers for performances, gigs, and speaking opportunities since 2015.

BOSTON ART REVIEW

Boston Art Review is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization that facilitates discourse about contemporary art and culture through publishing, programming, and events in Boston and beyond. Boston Art Review elevates diverse perspectives while bridging gaps between criticism, coverage, and community engagement.

BOSTON BUILDING RESOURCES

The Reuse Center at Boston Building Resources, a thriving nonprofit retail operation since 1993, receives donations of high-quality used and surplus building materials that are sold to members and the public. Each year, we process and divert from landfills over 200 tons of reusable materials valued at more than $2 million. We also offer a range of workshops teaching construction skills, building science, and creative reuse. We are committed to inspiring and empowering our community to better care for and understand their homes—we focus on affordable solutions that help all of our neighbors. 

BOSTON CHILDREN’S MUSEUM

Boston Children’s Museum engages children in joyful discovery experiences that instill an appreciation of our world, develop foundational skills, and spark a lifelong love of learning. A unique environment where play and learning converge, the Museum offers abundant opportunities for rich exploration and discovery.

BOSTON COMICS IN COLOR FESTIVAL

Comics in Color is a collective of creators and enthusiasts who create free and accessible events to promote, inspire, and create more comics creators of color.

BOSTON DANCE ALLIANCE

Since 1994, Boston Dance Alliance (BDA) has been supporting Boston’s dance ecosystem by creating shared resources and forging productive partnerships to help dance flourish across the City. BDA’s aims include increasing access to dance for diverse communities, building dance audiences, and fostering the sustainability of dance here in Boston.

BOSTON HARBOR NOW

Boston Harbor Now envisions a vibrant, welcoming, and resilient Boston Harbor, including its waterfront and islands, for the benefit of everyone. Our mission is to ensure that these unique regional resources are accessible, inclusive, and properly adapted to the risks of climate change.

BOSTON PUBLIC LIBRARY

Established in 1848, the Boston Public Library is a pioneer of public library service in America. It was the first large free municipal library in the United States, the first public library to lend books, the first to have a branch library, and the first to have a children’s room. As a City of Boston historic cultural institution, Boston Public Library today features a central library and twenty-five neighborhood branches spread across the city.

BOSTON SOCIETY FOR ARCHITECTURE

The Boston Society for Architecture (BSA) is a partnership between the Boston Society of Architects (BSA/AIA) a 501(c)(6) membership organization and the BSA Foundation, a 501(c)(3). The BSA operates as a convener, educator, and action leader to ensure that the power of design is fully employed in creating solutions to the equity and climate crises of our time.

As a member-led association, the BSA/AIA is one of the oldest and largest chapters of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Comprised of world-renowned architects, designers, engineers, builders, and other industry professionals, we benefit from a committed membership who are some of the leading thinkers and innovators in professional practice today. The BSA Foundation is a community organization dedicated to improving lives of Boston-area residents with particular focus on social justice and sustainability.

BOSTON THEATER COMPANY

Boston Theater Company (BTC) is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to creating inclusive, accessible, and impactful programming that uplifts diverse voices. Through theater, education, and community-driven events, we foster spaces where individuals—especially those in the LGBTQ+ community—feel seen, heard, and empowered.

BOSTON UNIVERSITY CENTER FOR PSYCHIATRIC REHABILITATION

The Recovery Education Program at the Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation (BUCPR) is an adult education program that offers students the opportunity to choose a range of wellness courses that support their rehabilitation and recovery efforts.

BOSTON UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF FINE ARTS

Boston University College of Fine Arts (CFA), established in 1954, is a vibrant community of artist-scholars dedicated to the fine and performing arts. Home to the School of Visual Arts, School of Theatre, and School of Music, CFA thrives within Boston University, a leading research institution and the only AAU school in Massachusetts with an art school offering professional undergraduate and graduate degrees on a central campus.

BREAKTIME

Breaktime’s mission is to break the cycle of homelessness by equipping young adults with the job and financial security they need to establish housing security. By providing employment, wraparound services, and financial support, Breaktime works to ensure that every young person has the tools they need to achieve job, financial, and long-term housing security.

CASTLE OF OUR SKINS

Castle of our Skins is a Black arts institution dedicated to fostering cultural curiosity and celebrating Black artistry through music. In classrooms, concert halls, and beyond, Castle of our Skins invites Black heritage and culture exploration, spotlighting both unsung and celebrated figures of past and present. Known for bringing “an endlessly curious and almost archaeological mind to our programming” (The New York Times), Castle of our Skins is a Black arts institution that centers Black arts, culture, and history in each curated event, musical selection, and artistic collaborator chosen.

CATALYST CONVERSATIONS

Catalyst Conversations places artists and scientists in dialogue with each other and with the public in our provocative public events free to the public since 2012.

CHARLES RIVER CONSERVANCY

The Charles River Conservancy (CRC) is a nonprofit dedicated to the protection and improvement of the urban Charles River and its parks for the enjoyment of all. The CRC promotes the active use and vitality of the parks, increases recreational and cultural opportunities, and works to ensure the beauty and integrity of this extraordinary public resource.

CHILDREN’S SERVICES OF ROXBURY

Children's Services of Roxbury (CSR) stands as one of the largest Black-led nonprofits in Massachusetts, supporting over 6,500 children and families each year, including 5,000 in Boston. Through community engagement initiatives and digital storytelling projects, our Youth, Purpose, and Partnership program (YPP) seeks to foster a vibrant digital creative community that is both led by and serves young people of color, strengthening relationships among peers and within the community.

DECORDOVA SCULPTURE PARK AND MUSEUM

deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum provides a constantly changing landscape of large-scale, outdoor, modern, and contemporary sculpture and site-specific installations of more than 60 works. deCordova exhibitions and programming inspire, educate, and delight with contemporary art from New England and beyond.

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC IMAGINATION

Department of Public Imagination—a public art project—imagines and prototypes new infrastructure for imagination work in Boston. Founded by Dzidzor Azaglo and crystal bi, DPI’s activations make space for collaborative imagination work, inviting folks to add to a living archive through an installation of the Dream Portal Phone Booth and live soundscape events which encourage collaborative envisioning, rest, and reflection.

DESIGN STUDIO FOR SOCIAL INTERVENTION (DS4SI)

The Design Studio for Social Intervention (DS4SI) partners with communities, artists, and social justice practitioners to imagine, demonstrate, and collectively rebuild places to be more just and vibrant. We are an artistic research and development outfit for the improvement of civil society and everyday life.

THE DIAHANN PROJECT

The Diahann Project (TDP) is a trauma-informed, culturally affirming storytelling collective founded in 2017 by Stefanie Belnavis, BC-DMT, LMHC—a differently abled Black and Indo-Jamaican American kinesthetic storyteller, photographer, and perinatal movement psychotherapist. Rooted in anti-oppressive and liberatory practices, TDP uses photography and oral history as tools to center the voices, bodies, and lived experiences of Black and Brown communities.

DIASPORAMASS

DiasporaMass is a dynamic community-driven platform dedicated to uplifting, uniting, and empowering the global diaspora through storytelling, advocacy, and cultural engagement. We create impactful content that highlights the achievements, challenges, and aspirations of diaspora communities while fostering meaningful connections.

DOWNTOWN BOSTON ALLIANCE (DBA)

The Downtown Boston Alliance (DBA), formerly known as the Downtown Boston Business Improvement District, was created by property owners committed to achieving the district's full potential as a premier and vibrant destination. Our mission is to significantly improve the experience of all who live, work, visit, go to school, or shop in the 34-block, 100-acre DBA service area by providing supplemental services to keep the district clean, safe, and vibrant while catalyzing an energetic and thriving business climate and serving as the neighborhoodʼs voice and advocate.

EMBRACE BOSTON

Embrace Boston aims to connect, educate, and energize within our communities and across traditional borders to cultivate the conditions necessary for racial and economic justice in Boston. Our vision is a radically inclusive and equitable Boston where everyone belongs and Black people prosper, grounded in joy, love, and well-being.

ESPLANADE ASSOCIATION

Founded in 2001, the Esplanade Association is the non-profit dedicated to revitalizing, enhancing, programming, and maintaining the historic Charles River Esplanade in downtown Boston. The Esplanade is a 64-acre park revered for its natural & cultivated beauty, riverfront access, miles of populated running trails, and thoughtful programming. In the last few years, the Esplanade Association completed planning studies in pathway safety, tree succession, invasives management, and interpretive services while partnering to launch a new beer garden, producing dozens of high-quality events, and much more.

EVERYDAY BOSTON

Everyday Boston connects Bostonians across a highly segregated city through the sharing of life stories. We believe that, to bridge long standing social, racial and economic divides, Bostonians need two things: 1) listening and communication skills and 2) opportunities to connect. Through story-focused programming, we provide both. Our vision is that Boston becomes the most connected city in America.

THE EXPERIENCE ALCHEMISTS

The Experience Alchemists (TEA) is a creative consultancy that elevates art in all its forms. We work with clients across the cultural sector and beyond to imagine, design, plan, and implement innovative public facing experiences grounded in art and creative expression. We are experienced designers, storytellers, facilitators, cultural translators, and strategic thinkers.

GOETHE-INSTITUT BOSTON

The Goethe-Institut Boston is a German cultural organization and part of a worldwide network of Goethe-Instituts that foster international cultural exchange and dialogue with Germany. Located in the historic Back Bay/Beacon Hill area, the Goethe-Institut Boston is the contact point for anyone interested in German culture, transatlantic exchange and for those who want to study or teach German. We bring international artists and experts to New England conversations and present a wide variety of events including performances, exhibitions, film screenings, and panel discussions, often at our Back Bay location.

THE GOTTABEES

The Gottabees are passionate about community, family joy, and empowerment ​and have been guiding families through stage performances, interactive experiences, and audio adventures since 2013. Their work has been performed in 19 states, 5 countries, for over 43,000 people.

HOOPLA PRODUCTIONS

Hoopla Productions uses the arts – including music, dance, and storytelling – as vehicles for bridging the divides of race, class, culture, and immigrant status. For over ten years, we have created inclusive, powerful, arts-filled events that build community and provide performance opportunities for BIPOC artists.

THE HUNTINGTON

Celebrating over 40 years of outstanding theatre, The Huntington is Boston’s theatrical commons and leading professional theatre company. On our stages and throughout our city, we share enduring and untold stories that spark the imagination of audiences and artists and amplify the wide range of voices in our community.

INQUILINOS BORICUAS EN ACCIÓN (IBA) BOSTON

Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción is a nationally recognized Community Development Corporation and non-profit organization that started in the South End neighborhood of Boston, to address displacement of low-income families due to urban development. IBA offers affordable housing and supportive programming to increase social and economic mobility for the families we serve.

ICA/BOSTON

Since its founding in 1936, the ICA has shared the pleasures of reflection, inspiration, imagination, and provocation that contemporary art offers with its audiences. A museum at the intersection of contemporary art and civic life, the ICA has advanced a bold vision for amplifying the artist’s voice and expanding the museum’s role as educator, incubator, and convener. Its exhibitions, performances, and educational programs provide access to the breadth and diversity of contemporary art, artists, and the creative process, inviting audiences of all ages and backgrounds to participate in the excitement of new art and ideas.

ILLUMINUS

ILLUMINUS is a platform for emerging Boston-based artists to create experiential new works in the neighborhoods they call home. ILLUMINUS uses the creative process of developing and producing light-based public art experiences to enable artists to connect, inspire, and empower their communities. We are creating a connected city where artists are leaders and every individual feels part of a loving and vibrant community capable of manifesting positive change.

ISABELLA STEWART GARDNER MUSEUM

In 1903, Isabella Stewart Gardner opened her museum, the first fine art museum built by a woman in the United States. Embodying the fearless legacy of our founder, the Museum offers a singular invitation to explore the past through a contemporary lens, creating meaningful encounters with art and joyful connections for all.

JARTS AT THE VILNA SHUL

We are a cultural hub centered in a historic synagogue building in downtown Boston. Our mission is to spark excitement and curiosity about Jewish arts and culture and our American immigrant story through vibrant and meaningful experiences. In 2025, The Vilna and the Jewish Arts Collaborative came together.

KING’S CHAPEL MEMORIAL TO ENSLAVED PERSONS

Founded in 1686, King’s Chapel is one of sixteen historic landmarks on Boston’s Freedom Trail. Today, King’s Chapel thrives as a modern house of worship, a vibrant performance space for music concerts and recitals, and an historic site committed to preserving and sharing the church’s rich history. In 2016, the congregation began researching its historic ties to enslavement, and in 2025 will unveil its Memorial to Enslaved Persons commissioned by artist Harmonia Rosales. Our multi-part memorial will serve as a site for reflection, a catalyst for conversation, an inspiration for activism, and a beacon of hope. In addition to the Memorial, our robust History Program and Music Series offer unique ways to engage with our chapel and community.

LITTLE UPRISINGS

Little Uprisings (LU) founded by artist Tanya Nixon-Silberg, is a collaborative and liberative racial justice education consultancy for kids and their caregivers. LU endeavors to: center Blackness for our youth through the arts, build long lasting, sustainable, and deep relationships with schools and educators and create programming that centers itself in joy and play that inspires, educates, and revolutionizes.

MASSAUDUBON BOSTON NATURE CENTER AND WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

MassAudubon is the largest nature-based conservation organization in New England, focusing on the greatest challenges facing the environment today: the loss of biodiversity, inequitable access to nature, and climate change.

MassAudubon’s Boston Nature Center is a free community nature center and wildlife sanctuary just minutes away from Mattapan Square. Welcoming over 24,000 visitors annually, BNC is home to the George Robert White Environmental Conservation Center as well as two miles of walking trails traversing woods, wetlands, gardens, meadows, and a nature play area for children.

MASSART ART MUSEUM

The MassArt Art Museum (MAAM) is Boston’s only free contemporary art museum, a space to experience works by extraordinary artists at the forefront of contemporary art. As MassArt’s teaching museum, we are committed to educating and empowering the next generation of artists—both on our campus and throughout the world.

MATTAPAN FOOD AND FITNESS COALITION

Mattapan Food + Fitness Coalition (MFFC) builds intergenerational leadership within Mattapan’s Black and Brown communities to advocate for equitable access to healthy foods and opportunities for physical activity. Mattapan Food and Fitness Coalition founded the Vigorous Youth group in the fall of 2008 to serve residents from ages 14-21 years old. The program provides leadership and volunteer opportunities to Boston youth in middle school, high school, and college.

MAVERICK LANDING COMMUNITY SERVICES (MLCS)

Maverick Landing Community Services is a multi-service organization in the heart of the Maverick Landing housing development in East Boston. Our mission is to build an equitable community by uplifting and supporting families, promoting community health, and nurturing resident and youth leadership and creativity. We provide services to the East Boston community, including ESOL and digital literacy classes, housing assistance and eviction prevention, youth + teen programming, and a weekly food distribution. Our spaces also host community events; we are a gathering place for East Boston residents looking for information, connection, advocacy, and self-expression.

MIT MUSEUM

The MIT Museum welcomes all to participate in MIT's unique culture of problem solving and playful creativity. We envision a world where people are authentically connected into the conversation around science, technology and design and their role in shaping our future.

MOBILE MAKERS

Mobile Makers, founded in 2017, is a nonprofit organization that makes design education accessible to all people. Through youth design and skill-building workshops, community engagement, public installations, and pop-ups hosted out of a retrofitted mail truck, Mobile Makers encourages conversations about positive change in the built environment.

MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS, BOSTON

The Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) is open to new possibilities discovered through art. Showcasing ancient artistry and modern masterpieces, local legends and global visionaries, our renowned collection of nearly 500,000 works tells the story of the human experience – a story that holds unique meaning for everyone. We welcome diverse perspectives, both within the artwork and among our visitors.

NATIONAL PARKS SERVICE, BOSTON

The National Parks of Boston are three unique parks all connected by stories of revolution. Boston is the birthplace of the American Revolution, and a driver of social and environmental revolutions of the 1800s and 1900s. The National Parks of Boston invites you to explore the seeds of revolution and the ongoing and many-sided struggles for civil rights and liberties.

NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY’S CENTER FOR THE ARTS

The Center for the Arts is a learning laboratory where people come together to experience the arts. We organize and host interdisciplinary exhibitions, programs, and research opportunities that explore critical creative practice and the role of art in contemporary life. Through partnerships with faculty, staff, and community organizations, we aim to build a vibrant creative ecosystem within and beyond the university.

ROSE KENNEDY GREENWAY CONSERVANCY

The Rose Kennedy Greenway is a public park that showcases contemporary works of art in downtown Boston with the aim of fostering a vibrant, engaging city that strengthens our cultural assets and beautifies our park space. The Greenway’s Public Art program provides the public with free, temporary exhibitions, engaging people in meaningful experiences, interactions, and dialogue with art and each other. It provides artists with unique opportunities to exhibit bold, new work that considers the possibilities of 21st century Boston, while at the same time paying homage to, and thoughtfully examining our past.

ROXBURY COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Roxbury Community College (RCC) is a public institution of higher education offering associate degrees, certificate programs and lifelong learning opportunities to the Greater Boston community. RCC is committed to providing all learners with the academic and non-academic support required for degree completion and long-term success.

ROYALL HOUSE AND SLAVE QUARTERS

The Royall House and Slave Quarters functions as a site of memory. As one of the only remaining free-standing quarters where enslaved people lived and worked in the North, the museum bears witness to their lives, to the intertwined stories of wealth and bondage in pre-Revolutionary Massachusetts, and to the resistance and political and legal activism of enslaved and free Black people in the eighteenth century.

SPEAK FOR THE TREES

Speak for the Trees works together with Boston community members to plant, preserve, care, and advocate for trees and to expand the tree canopy in order to rebuild resilient neighborhoods and safeguard the health of all residents, repairing historic injustices that persist today as environmental inequities in urban communities.

Studios Without Walls is a Brookline-based collaborative group of sculptors and conceptual artists who produce exhibitions of art in outdoor and public settings. We emphasize our community ties in both our exhibitions and programs of educational outreach. Our purpose is to expand and educate audiences to appreciate, participate in, and become enriched by site-responsive sculpture, installation, and conceptual art.

THE THEATER OFFENSIVE

The Theater Offensive’s mission is to present liberating art by, for, and about queer and trans people of color that transcends artistic boundaries, celebrates cultural abundance, and dismantles oppression. Building on a three-decade history of nationally recognized programming, TTO serves Boston’s QTPOC community and their allies, families, and friends with groundbreaking theater, arts education, and civic engagement offerings.

TUFTS UNIVERSITY ART GALLERIES / BOSTON (SMFA AT TUFTS)

The Tufts University Art Galleries are where exhibitions, lectures, performances, and artist residencies converge to animate the intellectual life of the greater Tufts community and beyond. TUAG oversees the exhibition spaces in the Shirley and Alex Aidekman Arts Center in Medford, the galleries and public programs at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) at Tufts in Boston, and Tufts University’s Permanent and Public Art Collection.

For nearly 150 years, SMFA has been on the cutting edge of art education, never straying from our mission of preparing students to become contemporary artists and thinkers determined and prepared to make a difference.

UN-MONUMENT

What is a monument? Who do we choose to memorialize? How can our public spaces reflect what is important to us? “Un-monument | Re-monument | De-monument: Transforming Boston” is bringing temporary monuments and free public programming to neighborhoods across Boston, enabling artists to promote a far more engaged, reflective, creative, and active relationship with the city’s landscape and built environment.

UNITY NEWSPAPER

Unity Newspaper is a project by the artist Maggie Wong that examines collective caregiving through the lens of the League of Revolutionary Struggle, a multiracial activist organization that emerged in 1978 and grew through mergers of Asian-American, Chicano, and Black identity-based groups. With Snake Hair Press and Orbis Editions, Maggie has produced a publication that becomes a place to consider the relationship between past struggles and the futures we create through camaraderie. The project incorporates the publication into workshops that provide spaces where audiences can engage directly with ideas of self-determination and collective action outside the constraints of traditional art venues.

UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS, BOSTON | ARTS ON THE POINT

Arts on the Point was founded in 1997 by UMass Boston Professor Emeritus Paul Hayes Tucker. The mission of the program has been to host large-scale sculptures by major 20th and 21st century artists, establishing long-term loans for the enjoyment of the public, beautification of the campus, and to help educate our students. Since 2017, the program has been led by Gallery Director Sam Toabe, who continues to honor Tucker’s curatorial legacy while incorporating performance and socially engaged art, murals, and land art by regional, national, and international artists.

URBAN FARMING INSTITUTE

Urban Farming Institute envisions a city where diverse food cultures flourish and everyone can grow and share food in their own neighborhoods. UFI's mission is to develop and promote urban farming to engage individuals in growing food and building a healthy community.

Veronica Robles Cultural Center (VROCC)'s mission is to promote Latin American arts and cultures as an engine for stronger communities and economic growth. Our Vision is to create a vibrant and interconnected multi-generational community where all feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to drive social change and community action, through the diverse arts and cultures of Latin America. We offer a safe space where families and individuals of all identities interested in fostering, sharing, and celebrating Latino cultures can come together to create collective memories that will last and impact a lifetime.
